Joe and I recently celebrated our 6 year anniversary, by recently I mean yesterday, even though it was on the 13th. We always do something special; the 1st year was a fancy dinner, drinks and a movie (mildly drunk and we saw The Hangover, ya it was that long ago); 2nd year was San Diego Hilton resort and a weekend filled with fun; 3rd year was Las Vegas where we ate at Bobby Flay's restaurant and walked around drinking; 4th year was San Francisco and the cutest B&B along with camping; 5th year Joe surprised me with whale watching (whales are my favorite animal). This year we made it a day-long adventure.
We started the day with the wonderful Omelettery. Side note: I will steal their pancake recipe and a bottle of syrup as it is heaven. We proceeded to travel along scenic winding roads until we reached Squamish, BC, our destination. The Sea to Sky Gondola my friends is terrifying! Have I mentioned I'm afraid of heights? And by afraid I really just mean, makes me queasy and I get super dizzy...so up we went.
The view was amazing. The smell was incredible. After climbing up the mountain in our gondola, I had to make across a very narrow and very wobbly suspension bridge. Joe thought it was funny to sway this very narrow very wobbly bridge while crossing...I didn't find it so humorous.
Look at this handsome guy :)
From there we ventured through the trails, seeing nothing but beauty the entire way. The calm scent of pine needles and crisp cool mountain air. My heaven.
After a few hours of traipsing around the woods we decided burgers and beer would satisfy our hunger. Driving back along the winding roads listening to the Awesome Mix #1 spotify playlist, I couldn't have written a more perfect day.
